We are all doing what we can to keep safe…and sane! While spring cleaning is usually done in the spring time (go figure!) it may be a good time to begin cleaning now. Cleaning your home, both inside and out, can be a great way to ring out the new year. The first thing you should do is organise a checklist. This may sound obvious, but it is a common pitfall when spring cleaning. Find out what needs to be cleaned first, what areas need the most attention and how to go about doing it. It’s hard to keep track of what you’ve cleaned day by day, and a small note is better than a long memory.
Another tip is to work from top to bottom. When you’re cleaning and clean at the top last, dirt and debris will fall down and collect on the ground. No point in cleaning the floor a second time. Clean the ceiling first, then the furniture and lastly the floors.
A final reminder is that spring cleaning doesn’t start and stop from the inside. Be sure to clean out the driveway, flush out the gutters and remove any algae build up on the walls.
